1. Who We Are

Prose ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website useprose.co and the Prose application. We provide AI-powered outbound sales messaging software. Our contact email is hello@useprose.co.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — your name, email address, and profile data when you sign up via Google OAuth or email.
• LinkedIn URLs you provide — used to enrich prospect data via third-party sources.
• Generated messages — the AI-generated outbound messages Prose creates on your behalf, stored so you can review your sent history.
• Email tracking data — open timestamps, click events, and reply detection associated with emails sent through Prose.
• Gmail OAuth tokens — encrypted access and refresh tokens used to send email on your behalf. We never store your Gmail password.
• Usage data — feature usage, credit consumption, and session activity for billing and product improvement purposes.

3. How We Use Google User Data

Prose integrates with Gmail via Google OAuth. When you connect your Gmail account, we:

• Send emails on your behalf using your Gmail address as the sender
• Read your email threads solely to detect replies to messages Prose sent — we match by thread ID only
• Store your OAuth tokens (encrypted) to maintain the connection between sessions

We do not read your inbox broadly, access your contacts, store your email content beyond sent messages we generated, or use your Gmail data for advertising or training AI models.

Our use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To operate and deliver the Prose service
• To generate personalized outbound messages using AI
• To track email opens, clicks, and replies on your behalf
• To manage your subscription and billing via Stripe
• To send you product updates and reply notifications (you can opt out anytime)
• To improve our AI models using aggregated, anonymized signal data only

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers who help us operate Prose:

• Anthropic — AI model provider used to generate outbound messages
• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure
• Stripe — payment processing
• Vercel — hosting and deployment
• Google — Gmail API for sending and reply detection

Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Sent message records and tracking data are retained for 24 months by default. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@useprose.co. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

When you disconnect Gmail from Prose, we immediately delete your stored OAuth tokens.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encryption of OAuth tokens at rest, HTTPS for all data in transit, and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you discover a security issue, please contact us at hello@useprose.co.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

• Access to the personal data we hold about you
• Correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion of your account and associated data
• Revocation of Gmail access at any time via your Google Account permissions
• Data portability — export of your sent message history

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication session management only. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Prose after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
